Once again I write glazed over from sleep, but a bit more
awake than yesterday. Yet I have no idea what to write about. I feel like
writing w/out purpose is just a mild case of writer’s block. You can get ideas,
but they don’t inspire you or flow like they should. So you erase every also
beginning and you start again, and again, and again. But there is one benefit,
the best ideas come out once the illness has dissipated. And the only way to
get rid of writing w/out purpose-titis is to go through the symptoms, because
some of those few ideas you past by will be useful in the future. For example,
though out this last paragraph I have decided to write about writing w/
purpose, and I like the results. That’s how people write books, series even,
they a have a purpose to convey throughout all those stories. You can really
notice purpose from self-help books, but fiction also carries purpose through
the theme and morals. Some of the worse stories have no purpose. When I say
purpose, I pretty much mean goal for being. These are usually found in
interviews between the author and a reporter. You get question like: So why did
you write this book? What do you want to convey to your readers? What inspired
you to write this book? Questions like those are the backbone of purpose behind
every story, so you have to be cautious of what you read. If a good story has
bad purpose, then just find another. You don’t want to be influenced by bad
motives that you read, so you might as well just find another book. Your life
is even a story, that God has imbedded purpose through. He made all of us for a
reason, and you have to make sure you’re following His purpose so that you
please him and influence others correctly. Every page of a story effects a
persons, but every action that you play out can either get the person closer to
God or farther away. You choose every day and every moment, so choose your
story’s content wisely because once it’s written it influences. Here’s a poem
that I wrote about books. Hope you found the purpose through this post!

The Third Discovery: Early, Yet Tired Birds
The sun has just made it journey beyond the horizon. The
birds have just filled their tiny lungs for the first note of the day’s song.
The dew has just vanished from its green bed. And I have just woken up, fight
the strings of sleep to squeeze more purpose into my day. Everything about this
sounds wrong. I mean, it’s summer. Kids are supposed to sleep in till the sun hang
high in the sky. I shouldn’t care less about the date or day of the week for
that matter. The only variable of my life that distorts this statistic, is that
I’m homeschooled. Every day is summer for my siblings and I. I’d rather put
down the summer-schedule, than use it year round. Forgetting the date every day,
becomes tiresome and hard to keep track of. Also this summer, I taking a class,
so the date is just as important as remembering my name if I want to succeed. I
could list many more reasons of why I have woken up so very early, but there is
really one main reason. I just want to do more. Waking up at 11 am – 1 pm may
feel physically rewarding, but in my spirit I feel like I wasted half the day.
That’s no joy to wake up too. Waking up at 6 am may be a pain, but after you
get past the drowsiness, it’s pretty awesome. I can get twice as much down if I
wake up early, and I feel purpose-ridden when I take advantage of those hours.
Enjoying life doesn’t just mean doing things that are crazy, it means taking in
every second and cherishing it. So try it for yourself! Make some coffee or
tea, and watch the sunset to begin your day. Do chores or activities in the wee
hours to get even more done. It may not be for you, but it doesn’t hurt to try.
For example, I hate struggling out of bed before the sun, but I love to watch
the sun rise. You can’t eat your cake and your cookies. Some sacrifices can
lead to other joys. The early bird gets the worm, even if he doesn’t want to
wake up at first.

Extra Discoveries: My Inspiration
Hey, everyone! This is a speech I wrote about my inspirations for a Toastmaster-Teenhop camp that participated in this summer. I feel like this speech shares even more about myself, so I decided to share it here. I hope you all enjoy it!
Hello, my name is Brooke Leath, and
I’m going to share with you all my inspirations. But before I can even explain
that, I must define what an inspiration is in my own words to give you all a
clear picture of my inspirations. I
believe inspiration is whatever stirs your spirit and pushes you into creative
action, however one might express themselves. When I stay “stirs your spirit”,
I mean whatever fill you with passion and thankfulness. These are the seeds
that grow into creative action, which is your expression of emotion from your
inspiration. So your inspiration is your “spirit station”. Whatever inspires
you, will influence you. For example, if your inspiration is a person, then
their action might inspire you to be the best you can be. Like a famous
positive figure or your parents. That’s what I think inspiration means.
My inspirations can’t all be
squeezed into this speech, but I can share some that are currently rousing me and
a few of my main inspirations. Some of my trending inspirations are classical
music (because it makes me want to dance – though I can’t), vintage cars
(because they make me want to build something just as beautiful), anyone who
volunteers out of love for their community (because that makes me want
volunteer even more), and all of you (because it takes a lot of guts to come up
here and give a speech). My three main inspirations include God, my
grandmother, and any type of art form. Here are some of the reasons I hold
these three as my main inspirations.
God is my first inspiration, because
He made everything. Every sunset, every curve of the earth, every star, and
even me. That’s sure to make someone paint, hike, stargaze, or dance. I feel
like He’s the ultimate inspiration in my life because He drives everything that
I do. He makes me the person I am, because my actions are a reflection of my
inspiration. Him.
My second inspiration is my
maternal grandmother, Dr. Janie Nettles. She is a strong woman in God,
generous, highly education, wise, caring, and one of the funniest women I know.
She is always thinking of others’ wellbeing and giving away whatever she can.
For example, every time we visit her in NC we always come back with suitcases
splitting at the seams. Every time we pull out of her drive way she hands us
whatever she thinks we might need through the windows. Here, have an apple!
Take these rolls of paper towels! Here, have this 12 pack of soda! Take this
ice cream too! This inspires me because I want that type of abounding
generosity. My grandmother is also very smart. She has a two doctorate degree,
worked many years at Fayetteville State University, and co-founded a church with my
grandfather, Pastor Robert Nettles. She shares valuable wisdom all the time,
which I love to listen to. She is also very outgoing and hilarious, making
everyone she meets laugh. Those are all the reason why I’m inspired by
grandmother.
My last main inspiration is any
type of art form. That includes almost any type of music (expect Rock),
drawings, paintings, sculptures, plays, stories, poetry, and architecture. Art
is my inspiration, because I enjoy viewing the fruit of another person
inspiration. I believe that inspirations are the spark of another inspiration,
and I like seeing what I’m inspired by from the work of the people of the past
and today. For example, when I hear classical music, especially anything by
Tchaikovsky, I want to just leap along like I’m a ballerina in Swan Lake, but
since I can’t, I’ll write poetry about how the music makes my heart swell.
Inspiration is contagious, but it’s interesting to catch. That’s why art in
general is my inspiration.
In conclusion, that is why my main
inspirations are God, my grandmother, and different types of art forms.
