The First Discovery: The Beginning

I’m a nontraditional storyteller, and I find my stories in every day experiences and personal emotions. I find them hidden in the plain sight of reality, in words that are slightly compatible. Yet I can’t seem to find myself in my stories, so I decided to keep a public diary. Of course, I could have kept a personal diary or journal, but I don’t have the push to keep one. I’ll write one entry, and leave the rest of the pages blank. A public commitment to myself seems easier to keep, so I decided to make this my outlet. It may seem a bit silly, but I want to see how I project myself personally online so I can learn more of myself. Or in other words, I want to watch me be me. So this is the beginning of a personal discovery channel, starting now…

My name is Brooke. I’m 15 years old, this June. I’m in a family of five (not including my two dogs), with my mother (Nancia), father (Boris), sister (Gracelyn), and brother (Titus). I love to read, tend my garden, write, sing, dance, cook, eat, walk, volunteer, and make to-do list. I believe God created the heavens, earth, and me. I’m a believer in Jesus Christ, the savior of world and Son of God. God’s will is my plan of purpose. When I grow up, I want to be a perinatologist (high-risk pregnancy doctor), and own my OB/GYN practices. I love vintage cars, and I want a 1965 Porsche 356 Speedster convertible or a 1958 Corvette Stingray. I actually love anything vintage, but only quality vintage. I’m the co-founder of a non-profit organization, called TeenHop (go to www.teenhop.com for more info). I’m a DUAL/MOVR student, which means I take college course while I’m still in high school. My favorite food varies, but my current favorite ice cream is plum ice cream from DR. I want to live in Europe when I grow up. My favorite colors is yellow and blue, like the sky. I want to be an inventor, and start my own brand. I like taking care of children, especially toddlers. I love classical ballet, Christian rap, King & Country, and The Prince of Egypt soundtrack, which also happens to be my favorite animated movie. I want to be a amateur photographer or a musician. My current favorite movie is either Joy or Belle, but that might change. My favorite shows are Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, A.D. The Bible Continues, and any old shows from my childhood. That’s just a bit about myself.

I want God’s desire to be my heart’s desire. I want my life to be His’ will being played out. I want to be whatever God wants me to be. My mother showed my siblings and me a scripture about what she desires of her life. One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and enquire in his temple (Psalms 27:4). I want that too. I just want to please Him.
