The Second Discovery: Why I Write

I post one blog, and I already have sixty-eight page views! You guys are pretty great. Now I just need to get in the habit of writing daily, and I’ll have a legit blog up. I don’t write unless I have a strong burst of emotion or something randomly comes to me. If I try to push my mind into writing, I just end up with sentences that don’t sound like they would come out of my mouth. I’m sure that by next week though, I’ll have this automatic writing setting down pat. When I write I want my words to have meaning and purpose, so that they can have the ability to not just sit on a page but jump out and push somebody into action. I guess my wish for my composition to be a bit like me. I write that, because I’m a natural debater. I want my words to debate with the reader’s mind, making it stir and converse. I also have always admired wisdom, but I want wisdom that God grants not self-inflicted. I don’t want to become wise through trials and stupid mistakes, just through blessing. It could take years or this very instant, so I pray for the gift daily. As I was saying, I want my writings to carry wisdom too, so they can help a person focus on positive, selfless practices. Like the fruits of the Spirit or being grateful for your current heartbeat. I want a message in everything that I write, because if what I’ve written doesn’t help anybody then what’s the point. 1 Corinthians 10:31 says,” Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” Even if it’s just writing it has to have purpose, not just pleasure.
